Registration
Online, about 1–31 March 2027, with the test fee paid in the same window. You choose the university (Vienna, Innsbruck, Graz or Linz for human medicine) when you register.
Test
MedAT on about 9 July 2027 at all locations at once, once a year and only in German. Results in calendar week 32. School grades do not count; the Matura is shown only after a place is offered.
Who can apply
Holders of a school-leaving certificate, or pupils in their final school year at registration. The test can be repeated in later years; a result counts only for that university and year.
After a place is offered (Vienna)
Reserve the place in the MedAT account, then complete admission in person at the Studies and Examinations Department; winter semester only, by 5 September.
